Our materials
We produce reusable bags in four materials. Click a material to see its specifications, or read the detail below.
The four materials in detail
Woven polypropylene (PP)
The workhorse of reusable retail bags. Flat PP tapes are woven into a grid and usually laminated, giving a strong, water-resistant fabric at 80 to 120 gsm that carries heavy loads and takes sharp, full-surface print. Best for supermarket and high-street carriers, and any bag meant to last for years. Fully recyclable and available with recycled content. Read woven vs non-woven PP.
Non-woven polypropylene (PP)
PP fibres bonded with heat and pressure rather than woven. Lighter at 60 to 120 gsm, softer and cheaper to produce, which makes it the standard for promotional bags, event giveaways and high-volume campaigns. Takes full-colour print and sews easily into many styles. Also available as rPET made from recycled bottles.
Cotton
Natural canvas at 140 to 340 gsm with a premium hand-feel. The default for fashion, beauty, organic retail and gifting. Available natural, bleached or dyed, and takes screen print, embroidery and heat transfer. Biodegradable; recycled and organic cotton reduce its growing footprint.
Jute
A coarse natural fibre with a distinctive earthy look and one of the lowest footprints of any bag material, since jute grows fast with little water and no pesticides. Strong enough for heavy loads; the open weave suits spot printing or a printed cotton panel. Ideal for eco-focused brands, farm shops and delis.
